Can one client run fixed-fee, time-and-materials and retainer work at the same time?
Yes — in Odoo the billing method is set per sales order line, not per client. Milestone lines cover the fixed-fee phase, timesheet-billed lines cover T&M, and retainers run as down payments drawn against later invoices. Everything lands on one project with one budget, so profitability stays readable per engagement.
How do we handle Thai withholding tax on service invoices?
Most service fees in Thailand are paid net of 3% withholding tax, so the cash received never equals the invoice. We configure the deduction at payment registration so the receivable clears cleanly, and track certificate (50 tawi) amounts for reconciliation against your PND filings. The same pattern covers TDS for firms billing in India.
Do consultants have to give up Jira or their current timesheet tool?
Not on day one. Odoo's timesheets have a running timer and mobile entry, and once hours drive the invoice, fill-in rates are usually higher than expected; where a team lives in Jira, we sync worklogs across through a connector instead. What must live in Odoo is the rate card and the invoice — the source of the hours can stay flexible.
