The right price for every customer — Odoo built for wholesale distribution.

Every sector has one process that generic ERP handles badly. Every customer has a different price and it is maintained in a spreadsheet. We start there, because fixing that is what makes the rest of the rollout worth doing.

—— Where it hurts

What usually breaks first.

Where it hurts · 01

Negotiated prices maintained by hand

Every account has its own negotiated price, a volume break and this month's deal, and it all lives in one spreadsheet only one person understands. Sales admin re-keys those prices onto every quotation, line by line. Each mis-keyed line surfaces a month later as a credit note and an argument.

Where it hurts · 02

Credit limits checked after the truck has left

The order desk confirms sales orders without seeing the AR ageing, so goods ship to a customer who is already sixty days overdue. Finance finds out when they chase the invoice, not when the order was keyed. The credit limit exists on paper — nothing enforces it at order confirmation, the only moment it matters.

Where it hurts · 03

The 40-line order with 37 lines in stock

Partial availability is the daily reality of distribution, and it is exactly where spreadsheets fail. The warehouse picks the 37 lines it has, the 3 short lines get scribbled on the delivery note, and the backorder lives in a picker's memory. Nobody can say what last week's fill rate was, or which SKUs keep shorting.

—— Where you start

Three starting points we see most.

Where you start · 01

From spreadsheets

Orders, stock and costing live in files only one person understands. We move the highest-risk sheet first, so value lands in weeks, not quarters.

Where you start · 02

From a legacy system

The old ERP still runs, but nobody dares change it. We migrate in validated batches while it keeps trading, with a rollback point at every step.

Where you start · 03

Adding a site or a company

Growth broke the single-database assumption. We restructure for multi-company, multi-warehouse and consolidated books without stopping operations.

—— Modules

The modules this sector actually starts with.

  • Sales
  • Purchase
  • Inventory
  • Accounting

—— How the rollout runs

A sector template, tuned to how you actually work.

  1. Walk the process

We follow one real order end to end — quote to cash, or purchase to pay — before touching a configuration screen.

  2. Configure the sector baseline

The modules this sector starts with go in first, configured against your master data rather than demo records.

  3. Pilot with one team

One site, one team, one month. The pilot decides what scales, and its objections reshape the template before anything else ships.

  4. Scale and hand over

Remaining sites onboard on a fixed rhythm, each with documentation and a trained super-user of its own.

—— FAQ

Questions teams ask about this service.

We buy the same SKU at a different cost every month, plus freight and duty. How does Odoo cost it?

Set the product category to FIFO or average cost and Odoo revalues on every receipt — no year-end recalculation. Landed costs then spread a container's freight, duty and insurance across its receipt lines, so margin reports use true cost, not just the supplier invoice. Both are available in Community, so the licence cost for this is zero.

Can Odoo block a sales order when the customer is over their credit limit?

Yes. Set a credit limit per customer and Odoo warns at quotation and can block confirmation when the limit or an overdue balance is exceeded. We usually configure a warning for sales and a hard hold only finance can release — so the argument happens before the truck is loaded, not after.

Do our warehouse staff need barcode scanners, and does Odoo support them?

Scanning pays for itself quickly in distribution, because one wrong pick becomes a return and a credit note. Odoo's built-in Barcode app is an Enterprise feature; on Community we install OCA barcode modules or build a simple scanning screen instead. A cheap Android device with a camera is enough to start — no dedicated hardware required.
